Green Tide

 This original airbrush painting draws from the dramatic visual language of 1980s fantasy book covers and classic album art traditions associated with Boris Vallejo and Frank Frazetta.

Centred around a custom Harley-Davidson, the composition merges mechanical design with stylised mythic presence — a rider staged against a luminous moonlight cave backdrop. The piece embraces sculptural lighting, high-contrast colour and cinematic framing, reinterpreted through an automotive paint discipline.

Executed using automotive-grade materials, the surface was built through layered transparent candy finishes over a silver and charcoal metallic ground. This method produces an internalised glow, allowing the greens and ambers to shift with ambient light — echoing traditional custom motorcycle tank techniques while elevating them into a large-format studio work.

This work is part ongoing exploration into custom paint culture and illustrative heritage. The original has been acquired into a private collection.
