Part of a Limited series of works refining an illustrative use of the automotive paint medium, with the body of the Impala airbrushed in a mixture of gold and silver flake topped with multiple layers of Blood red Candy transparent paint.
Capturing the influential look and style seen the classic American custom and ‘low rider’ movements in the latter half of the century, the technique perfected and dubbed ‘Candy apple’ by classic car builder Joe Bailon, inspired custom enthusiasts to push the limits of design and paint systems to the extravagant and innovative levels seen round the world today.
Best seen in person to appreciate the subtle colour shifts and glow as you move around the artwork. This work is finished in a 2K clear providing lifelong protection from the elements.
